Dr Marcus Ford, BDSc (Melb)

Principal Dentist

Dr Marcus Ford is the Principal Dentist and owner of Smile Connections.  Marcus spent his teenage years in Ivanhoe, he graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1991 with Bachelor of Dental Science, starting his dental career in the Royal Australian Air Force with a sponsorship while he was still at University.  On graduation, Marcus's first posting was to RAAF Base Edinburgh in South Australia where he provided general dental care for everyone on the base.  On return to Melbourne, he worked at Victoria Barracks in St Kilda Rd before leaving the RAAF to head a 5 chair dental clinic at Sunbury Community Health Centre.  From there he took the big leap into practice ownership, taking over what is now Smile Connections in 2006.

With Marcus's 30 years of experience comes a varied skill set which includes placement and restoration of dental implants, one visit crowns and bridges, dental emergency care, general dental care including tooth coloured fillings, teeth whitening, and dentures. As an ex-serviceman, Marcus has a passion for treating other former servicemen and women, old or young!

Away from the dental chair, Marcus is a passionate vegetable gardener, Hawthorn supporter and cricket fan.  He loves to travel (pandemic restrictions allowing!) and is married with two adult children and a beloved toy cavoodle named Coco.
